A CHARMING COUNTRY HOUSE THAT SLEEPS 10 IN COMFORT AND STYLE
This casale is your home away from home, a place to experience the authentic pleasures of Italy. It is set amidst olive groves and vineyards, and was once the site of a 12th century village called Villanova.
The garden itself is graced with remnants of medieval walls and the remains of a tower where roses and clematis grow. The ancient stones and low walls still lying in the garden of the farmhouse, create hidden corners and fascinating open-air rooms.
Casale in Località Torregentile in Todi, stands out for its architectural integrity, relaxed style and exquisite views. The garden and pool area boast unsurpassable views of Todi, one of Umbria's premier hill towns, just 15 minutes driving distance. One view is framed by a pair of giant oaks in the garden; poolside the vista is open and it is truly breathtaking.
"In the evening we used to sit outside near the pool and watch as the children chased fireflies" wrote a past guest, recommending this lovely country house to anyone looking for an authentic experience in a quiet and beautiful setting.
The house was lovingly restored and furnished by its current owners and the work was overseen by a prominent Italian architect. Domenico Minchilli's work is featured in Architectural Digest and the book "Restoring A Home in Italy." Torregentile also got rave reviews as one of the architect's best works in a well known American design blog called "Willow Decor".

GARDEN AND POOL
The beauty of the villa owes much to the gardens and views. Old stone walls, dating to the 12th century, create rooms in the garden. The landscaped pool area is safely enclosed by chestnut beam fencing and thick hedging.
There is plenty of natural shade, chaise lounges and deck chairs. There are several marble tables - for dining al fresco - and a kitchen herb garden. It is all about the pleasures of fine food and wine: meals can be savoured under the kitchen pergola draped with flowering vines. The barbecue is a raised stone grill; there is a ready supply of locally supplied logs.
The pool (5 X 12 metres) is open from mid May to mid September, in the first half of May and second half of September the pool is openable on request at an extra cost: 500 euros/week payable locally
DESCRIPTION OF THE HOUSE
The house is decorated with English and French antiques and Oriental rugs; the emphasis is on traditional style and comfort with contemporary accents. The terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings throughout use traditional Umbrian materials. The spacious kitchen on the ground floor is a focal point: a raised fireplace is cosy on a cold evening. A treasured housekeeper will always put a smile on our guests' face. She is happy to cook delicious country meals (and babysit) for guests, upon request.
The villa can comfortably sleep ten. (We have a cot and a high chair.) The layout is uncomplicated and flexible. It is perfect for two families to share, as well as ideal for a honeymoon or a couple on a romantic interlude.
On the ground floor there is a spacious living room with fireplace and dining table, the kitchen, a service bathroom, a second living room with fireplace where sofas can become 2 extra single beds, on request, so that the house could accommodate up to 12 if necessary. The groud floor is completed by a double bedroom (queen size bed) with en suite bathroom (shower). Fans are provided in the cooler bedrooms of the ground floor, on request. Thick stone walls keep the heat outside on the lower floor of the house.
The sleeping area on the first floor consists in 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All bedrooms of the first floor are air conditioned (150 euros/week the extra cost for air conditioning, if needed):
2 double bedrooms (double beds) and a twin bedroom that accesses to a covered terrace with table and chairs, 1 shared bathroom with shower and bathtub. A spacious master bedroom (queen size bed) with fireplace and en suite bathrom (shower), this elegant bedroom has a direct access to 2 terraces, a private one, with table and chairs, and the scenic covered terrace that is shared with the twin bedroom.
