Information

Nestled in the heart of Umbria, a region celebrated for its enchanting culture of fine living and delectable cuisine, stands Villa Fausta country house, a mere stone’s throw from the vibrant art city of Orvieto (12 kms).

This villa, adorned with local stone and draped in evergreen climbing flora, harmoniously blends modern features with the traditional Umbrian style.

Orvieto is one of the most characteristic towns of central Italy, perched on a volcanic plug. The symbol of the city, Orvieto's Duomo is a jewel of Romanesque-Gothic architecture. Known as the "Golden Lily" of cathedrals for its golden mosaics that illuminate the splendid façade, while inside resides two frescoed chapels decorated by some of the best Italian painters of the period, with images of Judgment Day.

You cannot visit Orvieto without exploring the "Pozzo di San Patrizio", a historic cylindrical well with 248 steps, built between 1527 and 1537, 53 metres (174 ft) deep with a base diameter of 13 metres (43 ft).

In Orvieto there are some of the best restaurants of Umbria region.

Placed in Central Italy between Rome and Florence, Umbria is a region rich in history, culture, art and architecture, with famous cities such as Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Todi, Spello, Narni, Montefalco and many stone villages, ideal destinations for a day trip starting from Villa Fausta.

The villa's owners have a fine meat store in Orvieto; they can supply meat and delicatessen to guests upon request, as well as excellent olive oil and fine local wines.

5 mountain bikes are available at the villa for those guests who like to explore the hills on bike. For renting more bikes, guided tours or electric bikes, a local rental service is available, on request.
